Our First Christmas

We enjoyed a very nice Christmas as a family of three this year.  I'll spare you tons of text and get right to the good stuff--pictures!!!

Christmas Eve night, we had Mason open one gift (Tony's childhood tradition).  Pardon the strange camera effects...I was experimenting, but not very well!

Mason eyeing the presents.

With a little help, he was a great gift-opener!

...and he really enjoyed chewing on the paper.

Mommy may have subjected him to a bow hat.

Still more interested in the wrapping paper than the present...I did have to get that paper from him before he ate it.  Don't worry; no paper was ingested.

Mason did actually play with the toy on Christmas Eve, but I've failed to include pictorial evidence!

On to a few Christmas morning/day pictures...there were several rounds of present-opening to keep him happy and at least half-interested (hence the various outfits).  We started with the stocking (a tradition from my family), which is strewn all around him below.

At one point, he was tuckered out and napped right there on the floor where we were opening gifts!

Uncle Andrew and Aunt Ashley stopped in for a quick visit on Christmas night.  Mason sure is excited to have a new cousin soon!

Can't wait for next Christmas!

Five months old...

Five months ago, we welcomed an adorable little bundle into our lives.  Each day has been a blessing, complete with sweet smiles, baby chatter, and yes, oh-so many diaper blowouts.

Mason has blown out more than a few diapers...many I've dealt with and many, I'm glad to say, Mason's teachers have had the privilege of handling.  Even daddy (and his weak stomach) has had to "grin and bear it" through some nasty changes that exceeded the boundaries of the diaper.  You get the picture.

Today was like any other day, complete with one very messy diaper blowout to commemorate Mason's fifth month.

Mason's exersaucer was the "scene of the crime," as it has often been lately.  Something about the standing position seems to get things moving.  In fact, the very first time he played in the exersaucer, he "marked his territory."

I'll spare you any more details, but here's a couple pictures of Mason today.  Mason is "suffering for fashion" in his adorable little preppy Nautica outfit.  We ended up taking the sweater off shortly after the "photo shoot" because he just looked too uncomfortable and over-dressed for a little guy.  His, ahem,  ample jawline wasn't made for tailored collars and small neck openings...but all those chubs are so stinkin' cute.

One of these days we'll post a picture of our whole family together, but for now here's one of each of us with our pride and joy.

So, how does this work?

So, now I have a blog--a place to [over-]share, a place to spend a few [not-so-]free minutes...a way to quickly and easily share Mason stories and pictures with family and friends across the land!

I think I can handle this.  :-)  So, now that I've "mastered" posting, I need to figure out how to insert some pictures.  Bear with me as I get this thing off the ground, and enjoy these little glimpses into our life!

Merry Christmas!
